Key Tasks and Duties

  • Deploy hardware desired for the Bank’s IT infrastructure and make recommendations for new systems. Assume responsibility for the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support of Systems hardware/firmware.
  • Assess when hardware and software need to be upgraded and make appropriate recommendations for purchase. Assume responsibility for the implementation, configuration, and ongoing support
  • Implement and maintain the Banks system architecture in consultation with ISO. Assume responsibility for maintaining the documentation for the same.
  • Work with Systems platform vendors to identify and solve problems related to systems infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the administration of the AIX/LINUX server infrastructure
  • Responsible for operational support and maintenance of servers, running AIX and Redhat Enterprise Linux
  • Ensure Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) system software updates are applied and maintained in compliance.
  • Keeping the Platinum Unix environment compliant with the technology roadmap, such as OS & hardware upgrades, 3rd party software upgrades
  • Manage EMC SAN storage environment including DR replication.
  • Administer multiple server OS including Windows and VMWare server virtualization platform.
  • Conduct collaboration and open communication
  • Maintain documentation for the System topology in order to quickly access information needed to make purchases and diagnose problems.
  • Implement and maintain Systems security so that business, data, and communications are secure.
  • Manage and maintain the inventory of all the systems equipment used within the bank.
  • Active participation in the new IT projects being deployed from the System Infrastructure perspective.
  • Proactive monitoring of systems infrastructure in order to identify problems in the early stages with suitable management tools to maximize Systems efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Academic and Professional Qualification

Qualifications

A first degree in Computer/Electronics Engineering or a related subject.

Experience

  • At least 5-6 years experience in Systems engineering, configuration, and maintenance preferred with knowledge of Relevant Systems / Security platforms Certifications must have Microsoft Server platform hands-on knowledge and AIX/LINUX Server platform hands-on knowledge, Knowledge of Network platform desirable.
  • Expert-level knowledge of EMC SAN storage technologies such as PowerMax, Unity, SRDF, and RecoverPoint.
  • Experience in VMWare server virtualization platforms.
  • 2+ years working as an AIX System Administrator (including HACMP Clustering, Power VM, and VIO)
