Job Details

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

  1. Shariah Governance & Advisory

    • Ensure all banking products, services, contracts, and operations comply with Shariah principles.

    • Liaise with the Internal Shariah Supervisory Committee (ISSC) and implement their resolutions.

    • Provide expert Shariah opinions on day-to-day business operations and new product development.

  2. Shariah Review & Audit

    • Conduct regular reviews of policies, transactions, and processes to ensure ongoing Shariah compliance.

    • Support internal and external Shariah audits, addressing gaps and implementing corrective actions.

  3. Product Development Support

    Assist business units in structuring new Islamic banking products, ensuring they meet AAOIFI and Shariah guidelines.

    Educational Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Islamic Finance, Shariah Law, Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh), or a related field

    • Master’s degree (preferred) in Islamic Banking, Shariah, or Compliance

    • Professional certifications such as:

      • Certified Shariah Advisor and Auditor (CSAA) – AAOIFI

      • Islamic Finance Qualification (IFQ)
