Role Purpose:

This role is primarily responsible for managing, developing and maintaining Relationship Based Finance team for SME department to achieve the annual operating plan and to maximize new business opportunities and manage the business banking P&L to achieve the annual operating plan by leading the assets strategy to grow and increase share of fee income, increase finance and manage margins by selectively growing assets and gain larger share of wallet.

Business & Financials:

 

  • Execute regional / geographical strategy as assigned by the Head of Business Banking for assigned market.
  • Understanding the key components of the P & L and balance sheet. net profit income, assets and liabilities — to drive the profitability for assigned region,
  • Track the segments performance with the expectation to achieve or exceed the agreed goals. In addition. establish and for manage key performance indicators to achieve business objectives and goals i.e. profit, revenues, expenses, assets balances, liability balances and ROA.
  • Effectively manage direct expenses (where applicable) while overseeing any allocated indirect expenses (if applicable) to the region based on the agreed budget. Ensure that the sales/service infrastructure is appropriate to support the business targets.
  • Track sales and activity performance on key metrics within assigned region to ensure employee productivity is meeting and/or exceeding market norms/assigned targets. A consistent management plan with clear expectations to employees should be implemented and tracked appropriately.

Leadership and Team Management:

  • Provide leadership to RBF Unit Heads / Area Managers and their direct reports to acquire and grow relationships selectively and satisfy transactional needs of our customers
  • Drive the implementation of the long-term strategic vision and direction for assigned region, identifying the key steps necessary to achievement.
  • Facilitate constant product innovation to enable Barclays to become a leading Cash Management bank in the Emerging Markets

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

  • Detailed knowledge of Business Banking products & services.
  • Broad knowledge of Business Banking Credit & Operational policies & Procedures.
  • Specific knowledge of UAE banking practices, regulations & risks.
  • Good knowledge of anti-money laundering regulations issued by the UAE Central Bank and other regulatory authorities,
  • Good awareness of competitors in the local market.
