Assistant Manager – Digital and Data Analytics

Job Purpose:

To assess the adequacy, effectiveness, and compliance of digital banking channels and data-driven processes with Sharia principles. Leverage advanced data analytics tools and methodologies to identify, monitor, and mitigate Sharia non-compliance risks and support the Sharia audit team in continuous Sharia auditing

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct end-to-end reviews of digital journeys (acquisition, onboarding, and fulfillment) to ensure adherence to Sharia principles at all stages.
  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of systematic controls in mitigating Sharia non-compliance risks across digital channels.
  • Review the design and implementation of digital banking features to ensure alignment with Sharia rules and principles.
  • Utilize data warehousing tools (e.g., Hadoop) to extract, process, and analyze data relevant to Sharia audit activities.
  • Translate potential Sharia risks into readable scenarios for SQL queries to enable accurate data extraction.
  • Collaborate with Sharia auditors to identify and integrate key Sharia risks into data analytics for ongoing assessments.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of controls and risk mitigation strategies across data-driven processes and systems to manage Sharia non-compliance risks effectively.
  • Gather feedback from Sharia auditors to refine SQL queries and develop automated scripts for continuous Sharia auditing.
  • Document findings, key risks, and control gaps for discussion with the engagement AIC.
  • Stay updated on emerging digital banking trends, technologies, and risks to enhance the effectiveness of Sharia compliance assessments

Education:

Minimum bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, banking or finance with knowledge of Sharia and Islamic Finance contracts

Work Experience

5 years’ experience in consumer banking audit, governance or control function
