Assistant Manager – Information Technology Assurance

Job Purpose:

Plan and execute Information Technology related assurance engagements in accordance with the standards laid out by the bank’s Sharia Audit methodology and under direction and supervision of the line manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls in mitigating Sharia non-compliance risks across all systems, platforms and digital channels.
  • Review and evaluate IT systems to ensure they comply with regulatory requirements and ISSC resolutions.
  • Conduct IT risk assessments focusing on Sharia-related risks in digital banking, core banking applications, and other IT systems.
  • Ensure that an adequate IT System of controls with appropriate checks and balances are in place. The controls must ensure compliance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia.
  • Test application controls from Sharia perspective under direct supervision of the AIC and/or Unit Head.
  • Assist line manager and HOD in preparing a comprehensive, long-range Sharia Audit Plan covering all the Information Systems and Technology related activities, prioritizing IT engagements based on a risk assessment, and scheduling of follow-up activities, in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Support in the annual planning of Information Systems/Technology related auditable entities and prepares the Audit work program, in line with department’s standards.
  • Performs the Sharia audit of individual activity assigned to him to achieve the planned audit objectives in a professional manner.

Education

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree
  • Professional Certificate (CA/CPA/CIA/CISA etc. equivalent qualification is an added advantage).

Work Experience

Minimum of 4-6 years of Information Technology Assurance experience in banking environment
