Associate Sanctions Manager (UAE National)

Role Purpose:

Associate Sanctions Manager is responsible for the implementation of the Group-wide (including branches, subsidiaries, and other branches in Sudan, Iraq and Qatar) Sanctions Program and Provide ‘Subject Matter Expertise’ (SME) advice, guidance and input on Sanctions regulations including but not limited to writing Sanctions Policy, Procedures, Sanctions Advisory and delivering training and oversight on Screening systems.

The role entails implementing the Group Sanctions Policies and Procedures, periodic review of the Sanctions program, oversight and review of Sanctions screening systems configurations, and ensuring breach of applicable Sanctions compliances are escalated to the Head of Sanctions in a timely basis.

Specialist Skills / Technical Knowledge Required for this role:

  • Exemplary knowledge on UN, EU, UK, UAE and US (OFAC) / Export Controls Sanctions regulations
  • Good knowledge and experience reviewing of Payments, Trade transactions and Name screening.
  • Exemplary knowledge and experience of providing Subject Matter input for Sanction policies, systems and trainings.
  • Ability to provide and deliver sanction training.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of having provided Sanction advice to all types of business and operations covering all types of customers.
  • Good analytical/review/assessment skills of sanctions compliance procedures and sanction screening systems

Previous experience required (if any)

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree from university in any relevant field.
  • Minimum of 7 years Compliance experience out of which 3 years should be in Sanctions role of a Financial Institution
